The Week In Parliament for 30 October 2016

From In Parliament, 7:30 am on 30 October 2016

While the Health Committee splits in two to hold two hearings in Christchurch on Friday on its inquiry into public attitudes to assisted dying, the Maori Affairs Committee retreats behind closed doors to thrash out their differences on the hugely significant but politically polarising Te Ture Whenua Maori Bill. With a back story starting in the 1860s, the bill is the latest attempt to legislate for a compromise between two camps represented in the House by National, Maori Party, ACT and United Future v Labour, Greens and New Zealand First. Join us on the sidelines and also get a preview of what's coming up in the chamber and committee rooms in the coming week.
