Parliament's adjourned for the weekend, ending a week spent mostly under urgency to pass one bill that took eighteen hours from start to finish after the Government left the gate open for the Opposition to tack on unlimited amendments. Leader of the House, Gerry Brownlee, faces questions about the chance of a repetition next week. The Minister of Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Paul Goldsmith, uses patsy questions to promote "Money Week". Third-ranked cabinet minister, Gerry Brownlee, answers questions addressed to him as "acting prime minister" asking if he retains confidence in himself as the Minister for Responsible for the Earthquake Commission.
