Government accounts out this week reveal that tax income slumped one-point-one billion dollars below forecast in the first three months of the financial year. That helped put a big hole in the public finances, blowing the deficit for the period out to three-point-seven billion dollars. At the same time exporters continue to struggle with the high value of the New Zealand dollar, and the Labour Party says the National-led Government has no plan for the economy.
