As we heard yesterday up to 25 cases of Covid-19 were detected at a Christchurch managed isolation facility with Russian and Ukranian fishing crews believed to be the source of the outbreak. Eleven people are confirmed to have the virus and a further 14 are considered possible cases, all of them confined to the Sudima Hotel. It's understood that Russian and Ukranian fishing crews who arrived in the country last Friday are the only guests at the hotel, which is curently locked-down. RNZ reported last week that more than 400 foreign fishers were headed to New Zealand to crew deep sea trawlers after failing to find New Zealanders to fill the jobs. Anna Thomas spoke with the country's top Covid-19 modellor, Professor Shaun Hendy from the University of Auckland.
