A Pacific youth-led activist group has kick-started a campaign aimed at increasing Pasifika engagement in the upcoming election. Pacific Climate Warriors based in Auckland and Wellington are leading what's called the Pacific Votes Count campaign up until October 17. Using social media, the team have been sharing information from policies to Zoom panel discussions debating what portfolios matter most to Pacific people. Sela Jane Hopgood spoke with Brianna Fruean from the Auckland branch about what inspired the climate change activists to pivot their focus to the elections.
