While Steve Rumsey. is now recognised as a key figure in the evolution of photography in this country, his images of the 1950s and 60s were considered outrageous for the time, and against the cultural norm.
Auckland Modern is selected photographic works by Rumsey, and has been curated by Auckland gallery owner, Charles Ninow.
