Bloke of the Apocalypse is a new animated Kiwi series which has hit YouTube.
In the seven episodes, a father and son battle a zombie apocalypse, deal with annoying neighbours, care for their pet lamb and over the series develop a closer bond.
Twenty-one-year-old Wellington-based animator Charlie Faulks was given almost 500 thousand dollars by NZ on Air to develop and create the series.
Drawing from Charlie's rural upbringing in Gisborne, the show very much pays homage and celebrates the quintessential Kiwi farmer.
Charlie Faulks speaks to Culture 101 about the inspiration for the web series and gaining US representation off the back of "Bloke".
