Country Life goes back in time to meet a woman who farmed almost single handedly during World War II and revisits one of Taranaki's pioneering environmentalists who shows his ingenious method using ropes to help the visually impaired. Plus the main theme at Ashburton's A&P Show was bees, bugs and butterflies. "It's covers the local gardener through to the cropping farmer and everthing in between!" says show president Victor Schikker.
