Lavender Fields was one of New Zealand's first lavender farms. Jim Curnow started with two plants which gave him hundreds of cuttings.  Thirty years on a few rows of his original lavender bushes are still in the ground at the fragrant Waikuku property. When Jim retired his daughter Clare and her husband Kevin took over the running of the business and it continues to expand. As well as having an essential oil distillery and a nursery with nearly 40 varieties, Clare and Kevin make lavender products to sell to the tourists who flock to the farm over summer.
