Trusts set up more than 50 years ago by two Taranaki farmers have helped thousands of young people further their careers in agriculture and veterinary science.

Profits from two dairy farms boost the Bashford Nicholls Trust's coffers each year and scholarships are given to up to 90 students annually.
Trustee Dean Pratt says scholarhsips are now available to under-graduate and post-grad students. Each year about $180,000 is distributed.
