Robert Morris is chairman of Tamarillo Growers Association of New Zealand. He harvested his first fruit in mid March. The largest growers are in Opotiki and their fruit will be ready mid May.  A Taranaki grower will still be harvesting fruit in November.

Robert Morris says there's plenty of room for more commercial growers and his association is happy to help newcomers set up.  He says they'd also like consumers to give them feedback about the fruit because once it leaves their orchard gate they get very little information back.
