Three bills giving effect to the Treaty of Waitangi settlements of a collective of iwi have passed their first readings in parliament today; The Maori Party says it's preparing a letter for the Prime Minister calling for the Teina Pora case to be re-opened; Public feedback on the naming of New Zealand's main Islands shows people prefer the titles the North and South Islands rather than Maori names; The Iwi Education Authority says teachers won't improve their attitudes towards Maori students unless they're made to take responsibility.
