The tribes behind two treaty settlement bills that passed their third and final readings in parliament today say they've finally reached the end of a long journey; A Ngati Manawa action group has set up a camp in Kaingaroa Forest in the Bay of Plenty - continuing its protest over the failure by eight iwi to share forestry blocks among themselves; The Labour MP for Te Tai Tonga, Rino Tirikatene has used Parliament's question time to challenge the Maori Affairs Minister, Pita Sharples - asking what he's done for vulnerable whanau.
