The Chairman of Ngati Ruanui iwi in South Taranaki says the death of the Patea Maori Club Chairman, is a sad loss for Maoridom especially the kapa haka community; In Christchurch members of Ngai Tahu iwi and others from the Maori community are mourning the death of the respected kuia, Maruhaeremuri Stirling; A Waitangi Tribunal inquiry into water ownership has heard the Crown should be patient and hold back on selling shares in selected state owned enterprises, because Maori have waited years for their grievances to be settled; The Federation of Maori Authorities has signed a memorandum of understanding today with Business NZ.
