An on-going dispute between an Auckland Maori immersion school and the Maori immersion pre-school next door has forced the Ministry of Education to step in; The New Zealand First leader, Winston Peters, has made another attack on the Whanau Ora initiative; The Council of Trade Unions runanga says it supports an appeal being lodged against the sentences given to Tame Iti and Te Rangikaiwhiria Kemara for firearms charges; The new director of Maori Development at the University of Otago says he expects he will be a direct line of communication for the south island iwi, Ngai Tahu, to the University.
