The Waiariki MP, Te Ururoa Flavell, says there were fine tributes paid to Sir Peter Tapsell at his tangi today in Bay of Plenty; Ngati Ranginui is the first of three Tauranga iwi to initial a deed of settlement with the Crown over historical Treaty grievances; The Government may include the ancestral mountain of the Ngati Manawa iwi in Bay of Plenty, in Treaty talks it's having with Ngai Tuhoe over Te Urewera National Park; The chairperson of Rotorua based Te Arawa Lakes Trust, Toby Curtis, says organisations within Te Arawa are considering the idea of establishing a so-called tribal parliament.
