The president of the Maori Wardens Association is worried Maoridom may loose out because of possible job cuts at Te Puni Kokiri - the Ministry of Maori Development; The Pacific Island Affairs Minister Hekia Parata, says she's open to discussion about officially recognising Pacific languages in New Zealand; Bay of Plenty Regional Council has almost completed preparations for a half million dollar project, which will improve the health of the lake Rotoehu and reduce the chance of algal blooms; The Maori Research Institute has decided to postpone holding its first national conference in Rotorua until mid September.
