Some people on the Maori roll are worried that despite an extra party contesting next week's election, they're not benefitting enough from the political system; Auckland's Independent Maori Statutory Board hopes to work constructively with the Auckland Council, to increase the 2012-2013 budget catering for Maori interests; A group from Kohupatiki marae in Hawke's Bay is launching a project, to increase the population of patiki or black flounder in the Ngaruroro awa, between Napier and Hastings; The tertiary education provider, Te Wananga o Aotearoa is setting up courses on South Auckland's Manurewa marae.
