Port of Auckland is promising to make $1 million a week for the city, as the mayor continues to call for land to be freed up for the public.
The roll on roll off operations where vehicles are brought into the country, is the port's most profitable operation.
But it's also the part of the port the mayor has previously pinpointed as land he wants people to be able to use.
So how does the port's desire to increase its profits tie in with the mayor's vision for the land it sits on?
