United Nations calls for access to food, fuel and water in Gaza

The UN has called for rapid and unimpeded access to essential supplies of food, fuel and water into Gaza as Israel's bombardment continues.

Gaza's only power station has shut down, after Israel cut off electricity supplies, as well as the transport of goods.

Israel says it's targeting Hamas fighters, not civilians.

The death toll in Israel from the Hamas attacks has reached 1200 while more than 1100 people have been killed by Israeli air strikes on Gaza.

Israel's political leaders have put their differences aside to form a wartime emergency government, and have summoned 360,000 reservists.

Many of them are amassing on Gaza's border, preparing for a potential ground invasion.
