Meanwhile health officials hope a new private hospital will help relieve the backlog of people waiting for surgery in Hawke's Bay.
Kaweka Hospital, in Hastings, held its official opening today. The Health Minister was there, and says he's not worried about the private sector poaching staff from the desperately short-staffed public hospitals.
