Govt secures deal for Pfizer's Covid antiviral medication

Another drug has been added to the Covid toolkit. The government's secured a pre-purchase agreement for 60,000 courses of Pfizer's anti-viral medication.

Known as Paxlovid overseas, the medication is administered as three pills and taken twice daily for three days.

The Prime Minister says clinical trials have shown an 89 percent reduction of hospitalisation and death.
