The government may take a second look at Kāinga Ora's policy that's seen no tenants evicted in the past three years.

That's despite complaints of unruly behaviour and harassment of their neighbours. A party in Whangārei at the weekend ended in an arrest and car crash, and an elderly couple subjected to months of verbal abuse and death threats, are among a growing group voicing concern about antisocial Kāinga Ora neighbours.

Associate Housing minister Poto Williams says evictions do happen in "very rare circumstances" but the preference is to work with all parties to find a resolution, rather than turf families with children out onto the street.
