Māngere’s Jean Batten school principal Nardi Leonard told Checkpoint her school is planning to have some outside classrooms taking place, with shaded areas available.
“We’ll be opening the gates to everyone who has indicated they will be returning. That is at this stage approximately a quarter of our roll.
“There are still some people that are sitting on the fence. Māngere is considered a hot spot, so that’s probably making people very cautious. So they should be, we’re cautious as well at school.”
