The government has announced a major expansion of its vaccine mandate. Workers employed by businesses that require customers to present a vaccine certificate will also need to be fully immunised.
About a quarter of the entire work force is expected to be covered by the sweeping order.
Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says this requirement will come into force when the country moves to the new traffic light framework.
