The Prime Minister says the government is giving full consideration to easing restrictions in Auckland, but the border will remain in place.

19 new community cases of Covid-19 have been reported today, including one outside the boundary in Northern Hauraki.

Jacinda Ardern says case numbers have been volatile, but the outbreak is broadly under control. But she says there are no plans to allow Aucklanders to leave the city when alert levels are reviewed.

However, the National Party leader Judith Collins says keeping a border around Auckland will be hard for families.

She believes some Aucklanders are starting lose confidence in the Government's Covid-19 response.
