Auckland Primary Principals Association President Stephen Lethbridge says 93 percent of primary and intermediate schools he has spoken to want the upcoming school holidays to remain the same.
"We've been here before, we had early holidays last year, and what we can see is that schools remember having a very very long term after those holidays.
"Children's energy level, teachers' energy really dropped off towards the end of that big long term. So we really want to hit the ground running and have a really great end to what has been a very messy year."
He is urging parents who are struggling with their kids learning at home to contact their schools. "Talk to your local school about how you're experiencing remote learning."
