Auckland businesses ask for more help as lockdown extended

From Checkpoint, 6:16 pm on 31 August 2021

Auckland businesses are screaming out for more financial support from the Government as they face an extended stint in lockdown.

The government has provided a one-off resurgence subsidy to help with fixed overheads such as rent.

But lockdown-weary businesses in the big smoke who are facing at least another two weeks at alert level 4 say it is not enough, with more than 15,000 signing a petition calling on the government to lend a helping hand.
