The Bay of Plenty District Health Board has apologised for wrongly requesting passports from Pacific people in line for a Covid-19 vaccine.
While there's no requirement to show ID to get a vaccine, some members of the Pasifika community say they were asked to produce their passports to get a vaccine in the Bay of Plenty.
Director General of Health tried to clear up the confusion saying identification is only required if people don't have an NHI number.
