In some regions the level 4 lockdown has coincided with the start of the whitebaiting season, with small crowds out on the banks of the Rangitaiki and Whakatāne Rivers.
But advice on whether whitebaiting can be done is proving to be conflicting, from various authorities and the Covid-19 Minister.
