Covid-19 Level 4 lockdown: What you need to know

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has announced New Zealand is being plunged back into a Level 4 lockdown from midnight - after a case of Covid-19 was discovered in the community.

A 58-year-old man from Devonport in Auckland has tested positive for the virus - he also visited Coromandel town while infectious.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says they're treating it as the highly transmissible Delta variant - which requires an immediate response.

Jacinda Ardern also confirmed that financial support will be made available to businesses.
