Teens have day in Court of Appeal calling for voting age of 16

From Checkpoint, 5:22 pm on 5 August 2021

A bid to lower the voting age to sixteen has seen teenagers spend the day trying to convince the Court of Appeal leaving them out is unjustified discrimination.

The group, Make It 16, took the case to the High Court last year, which found not being allowed to vote was discrimination, but it was justified.

The group disagrees, saying there is no good reason they should be excluded.
