So far so good - there are no community cases of Covid-19, but the Minister is warning it is still early days.

The Wellington region moved to Alert Level 2 on Wednesday after an Australian tourist tested positive when he returned home from a weekend in the capital.

Nearly 7,000 tests have been processed since yesterday - 2,100 of them from Wellington.

The visitor's partner has returned a negative result - as have his four closest contacts in New Zealand.

However, Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins says the country is not in the clear yet.
