From Checkpoint, 5:05 pm on 3 June 2021

Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins has announced an extended pause on quarantine free travel with Victoria as the outbreak of Covid-19 in Melbourne continues.

The pause will be in place for at least another six days. Hipkins says special plans are being made to allow New Zealanders trapped in Victoria to return home.

Green zone flights from Melbourne to New Zealand will begin from Wednesday.

Travel will be limited to New Zealand citizens, those who are normally residents in New Zealand and some critical workers.
