Melbourne Covid-19 lockdown extended another 7 days - latest

Melbourne's lockdown has been extended another seven days as the cluster of community Covid-19 cases there continues to tick up.

But restrictions in the rest of the state of Victoria will ease slightly.

Health officials say the virus has been moving "faster than any other strain" they've dealt with and some infections have been traced back to just fleeting contact between people.
