A Wellington father who is suing health authorities says his deceased son should not have been discharged by mental health services while he was an inpatient.
Christopher Carter was found dead in his father's Wainuiomata garage in 2010.
His father John Carter's court action relates to mental health patients' rights when it comes to consenting to treatment.
But coronial findings, seen by Checkpoint, show the Carter family had another serious concern with their son's care.
