Game on, the Pacific Islands are finally being welcomed into the Super Rugby competition after years fighting to be included.

Moana Pasifika, a combined Samoa and Tonga side, and Fijian Drua have been granted conditional licences to join next year's expanded 12-team competition alongside squads from New Zealand and Australia.

Moana Pasifika will call South Auckland home for the meantime while Fijian Drua will be based in Suva.

The move to include Pacific Island sides in professional competitions is 25 years overdue, according to some top players.
