Lawyers question ACC's childbirth-related injuries policy

Some lawyers are questioning ACC's new policy covering the most common type of childbirth-related injury, saying many women could be missing out on cover they're entitled to.

ACC's cover of perineal tears has fallen dramatically since the agency realised its former policy was more generous than legally required.

Lawyers specialising in ACC law say the new guidance is too restrictive, and may in fact be a result of wrongly interpreting the law. Anusha Bradley reports.
