National criticises low numbers in govt's new housing scheme

The government is under pressure for having housed just 12 families under its Progressive Home Ownership Scheme, since it launched seven months ago.

Seventy-eight more families have been contracted to the scheme, and another 25 families will soon be moving into apartments built in Queenstown.

Housing Minister Megan Woods says she's proud of the scheme, but National has labelled it an embarrassment.
