Police bust: 11 arrests, cash, gold bars, guns found

From Checkpoint, 5:44 pm on 24 February 2021

A four month long police investigation has ended with 11 arrests and the discovery of masses of cash, gold bars and luxury goods.

Police have raided more than 21 locations, including the Auckland areas of Henderson, Long Bay, Flat Bush and the central city - all targeting drug operations allegedly run by or through gangs.

Seven of the busts happened yesterday, the same day National MP Simon Bridges accused the police commissioner of being a "wokester" - essentially more concerned with being nice than busting gangs.

Detective Inspector Aaron Pascoe describes the haul.
