'Constructive' call in AUS-NZ stoush over detained IS suspect

The Prime Minister has struck a more conciliatory tone towards Australia after last night's phone call with Scott Morrison.

But Jacinda Ardern wouldn't go into detail about their discussion, sticking broadly to a statement issued by her office this morning.

She angrily criticised Australia and its Prime Minister Scott Morrison yesterday for "abdicating" responsibility for a terror suspect being detained in Turkey along with her two young children.

Suhayra Aden still has New Zealand citizenship but moved to Australia when she was six, and travelled to Syria on an Australian passport.
