'Bedroom encounter' between MIQ worker, returnee 'unacceptable'

From Checkpoint, 5:18 pm on 29 January 2021

An Auckland managed isolation worker has been sacked after a wine delivery to a guest, a note penned on the back of a surgical mask, and what has been described as a "bedroom encounter".

It's been revealed an isolating returnee and staff member were exchanging notes, and the worker was caught after 20 minutes in the returnee's room at the Grand Millennium.

The Covid-19 Recovery Minister says it is unacceptable.

As well as that, authorities have revealed another two people caught the virus while in managed isolation at the Pullman.
