Hospo hotline a helping hand for workers

A new hospitality helpline is being launched to support staff who may be getting a raw deal as they slog away at bars, cafes and restaurants over the coming months. Unite union has created the free to use service, which will be available seven days a week, to take calls from anyone who needs advice, or support, in the hospitality industry. It's received 200 thousand dollars from the Ministry for Business, Employment and Innovation to cover the costs, which has come out of their covid 19 fund. The union's National Secretary John Crocker told me that Covid-19 had exposed problems in the industry which were already rife.
