Ihumātao deal expected, PM silent but Opposition cries foul

The Prime Minister is refusing to be drawn on whether a deal over Ihumātao was given the green light in the last Cabinet meeting for the year.

RNZ understands an agreement for Fletchers to sell the disputed land to the government was put before ministers, in an attempt to break the long running deadlock.

But the Opposition is crying foul, saying Jacinda Ardern helped create the mess, and taxpayers should not have to bail her out.
