A man who raped a woman in an Auckland motel after going on a date with her has been jailed for three and a half years.
The man, who has interim name suppression, was found guilty of rape after a judge-alone trial in the High Court at Auckland earlier this month.
He continues to deny the offending and has already instructed his lawyer to appeal his sentence and conviction.
