Children's Comissioner on urgent uplifts of tamariki

The Children's Commissioner wants no more urgent uplifts of tamariki and pepi Maori from hospitals - but has stopped short of recommending an end to all uplifts where the family isn't notified beforehand. Those recommendations are from the newly-released second part of Judge Andrew Becroft's inquiry into the removal practices of Maori babies by Oranga Tamariki. One social worker ....working with Maori teenage mothers in South Auckland welcomes the recommendation, but says it could go even further to stop all uplifts without notice. Meriana Johnsen explains.
