Lake Ōhau locals held up from returning by demolition work

From Checkpoint, 6:18 pm on 30 October 2020

Lake Ōhau residents believe they've been unnecessarily delayed from moving back into the village due to demolition problems.

Roughly half the properties in the village were destroyed or damaged when a fire ripped through earlier this month.

The Waitaki District Council told residents yesterday if it's safe, some will be allowed to move back in to habitable properties next month.
