A man who threw his stepson against a sofa - causing injuries that later killed him - has been jailed for nearly six years. Phillip John Welsh assaulted 17-month-old Malcolm Bell in Auckland last June - angered the boy's mother was using him as a babysitter.
Today, the boy's family described watching him die of his injuries during his week in Starship Hospital.
