Most abuse settlement funds spend on costs - MSD

The Ministry of Social Development has revealed more than 60 percent of the money it has spent on settling historical abuse claims has gone on operational costs, legal aid and external legal fees.

The Ministry told the Royal Commission into Abuse in Care it has received just over 4,000 claims and has resolved just under half of them.
