Music venues and theatres in Auckland can fling their doors open again, now that the city is back to Covid-19 alert level 1.
They've endured more than six months of uncertainty, the inability to bring in large international acts, and for long periods of time empty seats and closed doors.
While they're happy to be reopening, some say the looming threat of sliding up and down the alert levels casts a long shadow of uncertainty over the future of the arts sector.
